New Year’s Resolutions

It’s that time of year again: New Year! Everyone is excited that 2016 is over and, 2017 is the perfect time for fresh start. Many people want to improve themselves or do something completely different, which brings the whole idea of a “New Year Resolution.” It might sound like a cliché, but having a resolution for this New Year gives a person a sense of motivation because he or she has a goal to achieve. Resolutions differ for people, but here are the top 3 things that are sure to keep your year exciting and positive:

  1. Become Healthy: This is the year to live a healthier lifestyle. Whether it’s eating more fruits and veggies, eating a balanced diet, reducing sugar intake, getting more sleep, exercising more, or being positive and developing a healthier mindset, becoming healthy is definitely a resolution that should be on everyone’s list.
  2. Stay in Touch: Getting more connected with friends and/or family members is not only good for you psychologically, but also physically. Take the time out of your busy lifestyle to just enjoy some quality time with those who matter most. Visit, THE MARKET AT THE FAREWAY in Chestnut Hill, with loved ones for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, since it is local and convenient. There are so many vendors to check out and plenty of seating so you could grab a cup of coffee from Poppy’s Cafe or order a quick and delicious meal from Chicko Tako, and catch up with friends/family.
  3. Be Adventurous: Take advantage of this year by getting out of your comfort zone, trying new things, and traveling. Staying inside and being afraid will not help in your steps of living an exciting year. Go to the new eatery near you and try an extraordinary dish or take that skydiving lesson you’ve been dreaming of but haven’t taken. Whatever it may be, make it count because you only live once.

New Year’s is a time to reinvent ourselves. Let’s not continue to be the same old person; move forward and progress into someone who is better this year than last year. At first it may be tough, but trust me, you can get through it. Stick with your resolutions and see how much happier you become.
