An Interview with Rice’s Quality Meats

Father and son, Steve and Derrick, run Rice’s Quality Meats, a business that has been in the family for 10 years in MARKET at the FAREWAY, a Philadelphia market.  The two are not only focused on bringing back the local neighborhood butcher feel while serving the highest quality meats around, but are also dedicated to delivering excellent customer service.  Rice’s takes pride in being a local provider of fresh, cut-to-order beef, pork, lamb, and veal.  Some specific items they sell include marrow bones, hickory smoked bacon, smoked pork chops, and sweet and hot Italian pork rope sausage.  Rice’s uses some of the best suppliers in order to make their customers happy and maintain the high quality of their brand. They bring in veal and lamb from Marcho’s Farms, their pork products from Leidy’s Pork, and their grass-fed and grain-finished beef from Quaker Valley.  Marcho’s Farms is located in Souderton, PA and was started in 1969.  Leidy’s, out of Harleysville, has been in existence for 119 years and is known for its high quality, fresh, and smoked pork products.  The company merged with Alderfer, Inc. to form ALL Holding Company.  These suppliers provide Rice’s with top notch quality meats, which appeal to everyone’s preference.

While Rice’s is all about quality and family, the owners have a lot of family traditions and memories that they cherish. One of their Easter family traditions includes a big ham dinner at Derrick’s mother’s and father’s house with their family where they gather around the table and feast, laugh and enjoy the time well spent with people they love.

Rice’s wants to thank all of the customers for making them the vendor you choose and making their days at the MARKET worthwhile.
