Ken LeRoy and Paul Meyer are leading a Fall 2016 Tree Stroll in Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia’s Garden District, on Thursday, October 13 from 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm Join the group for an evening stroll through Chestnut Hill beginning in the parking lot behind the Bank of America at 8601 Germantown Avenue and end with a social hour event at MARKET at the FAREWAY at 8229 Germantown Avenue.

Ken LeRoy has been a practicing Arborist and Horticulturist throughout his career currently serving his clientele in Philadelphia and the surrounding counties with John B. Ward and Co. Tree Experts.  Currently on the board of Philadelphia Parks Alliance and Temple Ambler Arboretum, a former board member of Friends of the Wissahickon. Ken is dedicated to the integration of trees and natural systems into the urban and suburban environment.

Paul Meyer is the F. Otto Haas Executive Director of the Morris Arboretum of the University of Pennsylvania. He has played a major role in the Arboretum’s restoration of its historic gardens, architecture, and vistas with notable plant collections. He has taught Urban Horticulture in the University of Pennsylvania’s Landscape Architecture and Regional Planning Department and is a frequent contributor to horticultural publications.

A minimum of a 3×3-foot space is required and there are many other requirements as well such as distance from stop signs and street corners, distance from utility poles, distance from other trees, and more. You can also sign up for tree care training and learn more about how to care for your new tree. You’ll learn how to water the tree, what type of soil the tree needs, how to mulch, weed, prune and more!
